What is the design service?

It is the drawing, sold on its own. You brief our designer the way you would brief us for a tattoo, and you receive finished, high-resolution artwork as digital files — no needle involved unless you want one later.

People use it for tattoos they intend to have done elsewhere or later, for artwork they want to print or frame, for logos and merchandise drawn in a tattoo idiom, and for memorial pieces they are not ready to commit to skin yet.

Can I take the design to another artist?

Yes. The whole point of buying a design outright is that it is yours to use. If you are moving cities, waiting for a scar to settle, or booked with an artist elsewhere whose drawing style is not what you want, this is the service that solves it.

We supply it in a form a tattooer can actually work from — clean linework at print resolution, with the shading and colour indicated clearly enough that another artist can execute it faithfully.

What do I actually receive?

High-resolution digital files, ready to print or hand to an artist. If the piece is destined for skin, that includes a clean line drawing suitable for stencilling as well as the rendered version showing how it should look finished.

Tell us at the briefing what the design is for. Artwork drawn for a print and artwork drawn to be tattooed are not the same drawing — line weight, contrast and the amount of fine detail all change depending on where it is going to live.

How long does it take?

Most designs take one to two weeks from briefing to final files, depending on complexity and how many revisions the review stage needs. Large, dense compositions take longer, and we will tell you the realistic timeline before you commit.

You see a draft before anything is finalised. Changes at that stage are part of the service — this is a collaboration, not a vending machine.

What does it cost, and who owns it?

Design work is quoted per project, based on complexity, size and how many revision rounds you expect. You get the number after the briefing, before any drawing starts.

You are buying artwork for your own use — to have tattooed, to print, to hang. Our artists retain the right to show the work in their own portfolio, which is normal practice for commissioned illustration. If you need something different for a commercial use, say so at the briefing and we will sort the terms out then rather than afterwards.
